Favorite Quote:
"I stare at my intoxicated, happy self for an instant. and hear a voice inside saying: remember this moment forever. Remember this moment, Becky, because right now, life is perfect."

Review:
I think this was a lot better than the 1st one because me and Becky have more rapport, more history and more familiarity. I still dislike her at times but I feel like a friend who wants to help a friend out. I just want to slap her on the face and make her realize her SICKNESS! haha She seems to hate money a lot, always spending it because she hates it so much! But I actually cried because I felt sad when Becky and Luke broke up. I think they balance each other out. This book showed me a very important lesson, that is if you want to change, you can! As Paulo Coelho said, if you want something all the universe will conspire to help you achieve it. I’m glad that Becky have resolved her problems. Can’t wait to read more of her shopping adventures.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Date read: March 25, 2011 - March 28, 2011
My Edition: 350 pages, 2003
Published by: Dell Books
Rating: 3 kisses

Favorite Quote:
"That instant when your fingers curl round the handles of a shiny, uncreased bad - and all the gorgeous new things inside it become yours. What’s it like? It’s like going hungry for days then cramming your mouth full of warm buttered toast. It’s like waking up and realizing it’s the weekend. It’s like the better moments of sex. Everything else is blocked out of your mind. It’s pure, selfish pleasure."

Review:
This is a book wherein the heroine is someone I despise or at least disliked. She’s impulsive and a compulsive liar. HAHA! She spends and spends and I just want to tell her to stop her senseless buying. I’m not this girl. I’m frugal. I can’t connect with her. I love shopping but not to Becky Bloomwood’s level. I’m just glad that she was able to at least redeem herself in the end. She ‘s very lucky that things work out in her favor. One thing is for sure, this girl needs HELP. If you want a funny and irritating (in a way) and you love shopping then this is for you.

My Soundtrack:
1. Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want by The Smiths
2. If I Can't Have You by Adam Lambert

There is beauty in numbers. This beauty is called Regularity, and its essence Predictability.

Review:
It was an okay book. The first half was really good and exciting. I really loved the Tirzah - Yaqob - Boaz love triangle. The plot was also exciting. I was really anticipating what evil lurks in Threshold. But after Tirzah and Boaz got together and the evil from Threshold was released everything went downhill. The second part was kind of boring. I wished it was shortened by the author. A lot of unnecessary and silly stuff like the Fetizzah. It was really weird. Also the author made use of a lot of deus ex machina using Fetizzah. Maybe editing the second part would make the story better. A little mystery is also good. This is for mature readers who also loves young adult fantasy books.

My Soundtrack:
1. Santeria by Sublime
2. Hot N Cold by Katy Perry
3. Symphony by Marie Digby

The Ruins

Date read: March 14, 2011 - March 19, 2011
My Edition: 369 pages, 2008
Published by: Vintage Books
Rating: 4 kisses

Favorite Quote: "And rain didn't come from hope - rain came from clouds, white or gray or the deepest black, it didn't matter - they had to be there."

Review:
This came as a surprise for me because I'm not really the horror kind of girl but I was unable to put the book down. It was really exciting. It was not scary but really really creepy. Who likes to be haunted by carnivorous, talking plants? Not me. I wouldn't want to stay in that hill. It made me look at Mexico at another way... creepy Mexico, home of the killer plants. HAHA! It has a nice ending, very open-ended, but if he's going to make another sequel, leave me out. I wouldn't want to read anymore of that creepy plants. I feel that this is a really good, suspenseful movie.

My Soundtrack:
1. Umbrella by Rihanna
2. When You're Mad by Ne-Yo
3. Rolling in the Deep by Adele
4. Impossible by Shontelle
5. Clumsy by Fergie

As Always, Jack

Date read: March 13, 2011 - March 14, 2011
My Edition: 179 pages, 2003
Published by: Back Bay Books
Rating: 5 kisses

Favorite Quote: "That's the way I like to remember you best. I've never seen a more beautiful sight in my life than you sitting across the table in candlelight, surrounded by filet mignon and profiterols."

Review:
A really really good non-fiction love story. Emma Sweeney's father is a really good letter writer. It has a tragic end but reading letters made me feel happy and loved. If this guy was alive at this time, at whatever age, I'll probably fall in love with him. His witty, funny, faithful, sure and sweet. Its hard to look for that kind of man nowadays. If you want an easy and happy read then pick this book up. :)

My Soundtrack:
1. Happiness by The Fray
2. Kapayapaan by Tropical Depression
3. The Climb by Miley Cyrus
4. Californication by Red Hot Chili Pepper
5. Shortie Like Mine by Bow Wow ft. Chris Brown

The Knot

Date read: March 11, 2011 - March 13, 2011
My Edition: 170 pages, 1997
Published by: Minerva
Rating: 2 kisses

Favorite Quote: "Anna is no such thing. Anna us a mood, the light which is constantly changing, now dark, or gloomy, or a bright golden dazzle, hitting things suddenly, running across the floor."

Review:
Eva Figes is a really good writer…of poems. “The Knot” is very poetic, very melodic? use of words thus it becomes hard to understand at times. I do commend her for making simple life become poetic, worthy of reading but its hard to understand. If it was written in normal prose I might have liked it maybe even loved it. I want to know more about Anna and Daniel but the format of the book made it hard to take a closer look at their personal lives. I can’t keep up with the characters that were not “properly” introduced. It felt like I’m thrown into a conversation with people I don’t know. I was forced to know them. Anna, on the other hand, I know very well. Aside from us having the same name, the book also showed her deepest emotion. She’s weird based on what I’ve read.

Like Saramago, Eva Figes hates quotation marks but Saramago did it better. This one I just get confused on who’s saying what. Eva Figes also hates describing her characters. I can’t even imagine the characters properly. Their faces kept on changing.

My Soundtrack:
1. Masterpiece by Atlantic Starr
2. Wishing You Were Here by Chicago
3. Drops of Jupiter by Train
4. God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You by 'N Sync
5. Poker Face by Lady Gaga
